Will the AI actually find my stuff?
Yes. The AI reads across every note you've written — not just titles, but the full content. Ask "what did I write about work-life balance?" and it will find every relevant note, even if you never tagged or filed them. It uses semantic understanding, not keyword matching. The more you write, the better it gets at finding what you need.
Will the AI's edits sound like me?
The inline AI features — Improve Writing, Back My Claim, Play Devil's Advocate — sample your existing writing style before making suggestions. It's not rewriting your voice; it's sharpening it. You always see the diff before accepting. Replace, insert, or discard — you're in control.
Are my notes private? Where is my data?
Your notes are private by default. They are stored on Cloudflare's global edge network (encrypted at rest and in transit). The AI processes your notes in-memory — nothing is sent to third-party model providers beyond what's needed for the response. Public sharing is opt-in, per-note. You can export everything anytime.
What happens when I hit the daily AI limit?
You'll see a small usage indicator that fills as you use AI. When it's full, you're done for the day — it resets at midnight UTC. You can still read, write, and browse your notes. Most users never hit it.
How much can I write on the free tier?
Unlimited notes, with generous space in each — plenty for everyday thinking. There's no cap to outgrow. The full AI experience stays included, always.
What about my 1,000+ notes in Notion or Obsidian?
Paste them in as new notes — no folders, no tags, no object types to map. The AI starts building connections across them right away. A bulk importer is on the roadmap for anyone with a large existing library.
Do I need to learn a system?
No. That's the entire point. There are no folders, no tags, no object types, no custom properties, no databases. You write. The AI remembers, retrieves, and connects. If you know how to write, you know how to use dolfyn.
Will this always be free?
The free tier will always stay free. dolfyn runs on real AI infrastructure with real costs. When we introduce paid plans in the future, they'll be for power users. Everything core — notes, AI chat, retrieval — shall remain free.
